If you want to boost traffic to your website then it’s a really good idea to get a blog going. Once you have a blog, you need to get the word out that it exists. One of the best ways to do this is by joining a blog carnival. Blog carnivals are an excellent way to promote your blog and website and to drive new visitors.
So, what is a blog carnival? Well, it’s a place where you get to show off what you’ve been writing about in your blog. A carnival much like the Rio Carnival is a collection of blog posts around a certain theme. Usually, you submit your own posts to the carnival(s). There are literally carnivals for everything, from pets, to family life, there is even one on bath tubs.
Once you’ve written your blog it’s time to list it. Pick a blog carnival of your choice but make sure that your content is appropriate for it. Almost all of the carnivals have rules and regulations about what is and isn’t acceptable. So, be sure to check these rules first and also make note of the deadline for submission. It would be terrible to write a great post but miss the cut off date.
Once you’ve submitted your post, the carnival host will then do a roundup of all the posts. An email is then sent to all participants letting them know the carnival has been posted. Then it’s just a matter of time to wait for people interested in what you’ve had to say, to come and visit your website!
